[학생처] Coronavirus 관련 안내문

Dear students,

The news of the Coronavirus has many concerned as cases emerge in the U.S. PTSA has been proactively following the surveillance of the 2019 Coronavirus that originated in Wuhan, China in late December. To date, the Center for Disease Control has confirmed five cases of the Coronavirus in the U.S. including one case in Los Angeles County and one case in Orange County. The CDC reports that current risk to the American public is low. Nevertheless, we will continue to maintain a proactive posture of continued surveillance and preventative measures to uphold the health of our campus community.

The Coronavirus 2019 is transmitted through coughing, sneezing, close contact with infected individuals and contaminated surfaces. If you would like more information about the virus please review FAQs from the CDC.

Please be proactive in taking preventive measures, which include routine hand washing, avoiding close contact with those who are ill, covering your cough and disinfecting surfaces. In addition, the CDC and the State Department recommends avoiding ALL non-essential travel to Wuhan, China. The seasonal flu vaccine does NOT cover the Coronavirus 2019, and there is currently not a vaccine available to protect against the virus.

We encourage students to be vigilant and be aware if they are at risk. If you have flu-like symptoms (i.e., fever, cough, body aches, difficulty breathing, sore throat) AND have recently travelled from China within the last 14 days or have been in close contact with someone suspected of having the Coronavirus, please visit your primary care physician or nearest urgent care facility for follow-up.

If you are F-1 student and have these symptoms, please visit doctor's office to obtain necessary medical documents so that these documents maybe use to excuse your absence from the school.
