CARES ACT- Emergency Relief Grant 30 days Report

Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund Reporting (CARES ACT)

On May 11, PTSA received an allocation of $20,743 earmarked for students from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF)

authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

School has signed and returned the HEERF certification and agreement form.

Please find our 30-day report below.

1. PTSA is committed to using no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.


2. PTSA has disbursed a total of $9,900 to students as of this reporting period.


3. PTSA intend to use the remained funds to provide for Fall semester to students who did not receive it.


4. There were 48 students who were eligible to participate in the program and were eligible to receive the emergency financial aid grant. The campus disbursed the emergency financial aid grant to a total of 28 students.


5. PTSA used an application process in awarding Cares Act Emergency Grant funds to students through Website (Ptsa.edu). An Announcement included information on how to apply, eligibility requirement, and a Frequently Asked Questions and Answers section.


6. Every eligible student (Graduate and Undergraduate) for Spring Semester was sent an individual email to apply for CARES Act Emergency Fund.


7. Spring Semester applications were available to students from May 11 to May 15, 2020,  on a first-come, first-served basis.


8. Spring Semester eligible student awards were $300-$400 depends on the level of study.

   The following elements were included in the eligibility evaluation process: PTSA documented the all information.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, such as a GED, or have completed homeschool through the 12th grade.

Must be working on an approved degree that is at least 24 credits in length.

Must be a U.S. citizen, or permanent resident.

Must demonstrate an ability to take on-ground classes. Only taking classes online students who live out of state and have a history of only taking online classes are not eligible to apply

Must not be in default of a federal student loan or owe a repayment of a federal grant.

Must register with the Selective Service if a male, and at least 18 years old.

Must have at least 2.0 cumulative GPA if a continuing student.
